The Top 3 Super Bowl Contenders & Updated Odds Lines

We are well-passed the halfway point of the NFL season, so naturally we must check the updated Super Bowl odds predictions. The Super Bowl is still set to be played in February in Tampa Bay, so everything is running as smooth as it can during the midst of a pandemic. As we slowly approach the ¾ mark of the season, these three teams are currently on the top of the leaderboard with best Super Bowl title odds.

#No. 3: New Orleans Saints

Drew Brees is the Royal Panda of all football quarterbacks. Not too many quarterbacks in their 40s can lead a team the way he is leading the Saints. The Saints own the third-best Super Bowl title odds with a line of +650. These odds include the troubling news that Brees could miss several weeks with a collapsed lung. However, the team signed former No. 1 overall pick, and 2019’s passing yards leader, Jameis Winston in the offseason to be the backup.

The Saints took down Tom Brady and the Bucs and currently lead the NFC South by ½ a game. The Seattle Seahawks are spiraling in the wrong direction, while the Saints are trending up. The question is can Winston continuously lead this offense? Winston threw for over 5,000 yards last year, but also had 32 interceptions. This is his chance to prove he can be a starter in the future, but more importantly, he has a chance to keep New Orleans in the conversation for the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

#No. 2: Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers are one of the best bets to win a Super Bowl title. The Steel Curtain defense is the best ranked defense in the league, which is why the team is pinned with +550 odds. Ben Roethlisberer has flourished in a game-manager role and has proved that even at the age of 38, he can still play football in this league.

The Steelers are 9-0 for the first time in franchise history. Big Ben already has two Super Bowl titles to his name, winning one with current head coach Mike Tomlin. The Steelers will have a chance to solidify their odds when the team plays the Baltimore Ravens on November 26th. The Steelers already own one win over this team. Can Pittsburgh get another?

#No. 1: Kansas City Chiefs

Is it really shocking that the Chiefs are still the favorites to win again? The Chiefs are 8-1 on the season, having lost to the Las Vegas Raiders, but still have the best odds to win at +350. It feels like the Chiefs are going to eventually meet the Steelers in the AFC Championship, but anything can happen.

Unfortunately, the Chiefs and Steelers will not get to preview the postseason because the two teams do not meet each other in the regular season. Everyone knows about Patrick Mahomes, but the Chiefs defense has played significantly better as opposing teams have scored less than 20 points in three of the last four games. If the Chiefs can fix that end of the puzzle, there’s no doubt we could see a repeat on our hands.
